Iron Man 3, Ultimate Spiderman and GI Joe: Retaliation

Okay, I've made the rounds at a couple of Target's and Walmarts and have the opportunity to eyeball IM3, Ultimate Spiderman and some Retaliation stuff.

IM3: The Iron Man 2 line set the bar really high. The Iron Man 3 line hit it's head on the bar and knocked itself the F*@k OUT! These figs are beyond horrible. Everyone remembers the Iron Man from the Avenger's Quinn Jet, right? Evidently, that's what the based the IM3 line on. Seriously, five points of articulation. It's SUCK-TASTIC!

Ultimate Spiderman: This is a new line based on the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon currently running on Disney XD. I'm a huge fan of the show, not so much with the figs. Obviously based on the same Iron Man fig from the Quinn Jet, it's all kinds of really f*@king bad.

GI Joe: Retaliation: I've spotted the 3-packs and the cycle packs. Pretty much the same. Not as good as the Rise of Cobra, but not as horrifically bad as the IM3 and Ult. Spiderman lines. I do want to get both of the 3-packs. They look worth $20.

Note to Hasbro: STOP IT! You can't give us great quality in the Marvel Universe, GI Joe and Star Wars line then pull back to garbage at the same price points. It sucks and we won't forgive you for it.

Advice to all: Begin hording. Find to older quality stuff and get it. I am. It fills the void in my black soul that only plastic or the blood of the innocent can fill. Why do they torment me?..the voices...in my head...telling me to do things... :notright

history has a tendency to repeat itself.....toy wise we are literally reliving the 90's all over again. i seen some of the im3 stuff and the idea looks cool, but execution is terrible....the iron man figures in the 90's were better.

The only thing I liked from the new Spidey line was the Spider-Cycle. It's the one from the show, but it was a "no-go" at the $20 price point.

I've recently seen IM3 and Ult. Spiderman single cards at a $5.88 price point and deluxe figs at the $9.96 price point. Both lines feature a stellar 5 points of articulation. The Spidey deluxe figs and the IM3 build-a-crappy-figure sets are awful. The spidey deluxe figs come with some sort of spring loaded disc shooty thing.

The Retaliation figs are still pretty nice considering.

I'm moving to Japan where statues are statues and action figures are action figures with 4076 points of articulation. I just need to come into some cash so I can do my own line of cool toys. Hasbro has really teased me with some of this new stuff from the JOE line and I want more. I can't even look at a toy section at a bigbox store anymore. It depresses me.

I couldn't agree more, Its really sad. The 2 Wal-Marts I go to have very little action figure wise, Wrestling, Spiderman, and StarWars Vintage collection PM that's it.

Today at Toys R Us, I couldn't help but notice that they had the IM3 crap in a separate isle from the IM2 stuff that they are still trying to charge $10 ea. for. I guess they don't want any comparison shopping.

they could have done a modern take on this iron man line.

even those these only had 5 POA, i still liked them because of how easily you could swap stuff.

i had a bunch of those back int the nineties and while the swappable metallic armor was cool it looked weird on other figures and some figures like hulkbuster or the space armor couldn't be used with the rest of the line, still seeing an update of this line would be awesome

and remember this was during toybiz's heyday of awesomeness and if memory serves me correct the stuff that hasbro was making at this time kind of sucked...big time, but back on tpoic the new stuff does stink and my TRU has this stuff next to the iron man 2 stuff and it's kind of like awww when you see the two lines next to each other
