We had some great discussions about the convention and convention going. That's especially helpful for us newbies. Preliminary plans for car pooling and room sharing have begun. I'd like to stay in same hotel as the convention. If we can get 3 or 4 to a room, that would be good.

I hate Night Force. I'm probably not looking to keep any of the box or bag set. However, I'd like to trade one for a Python Patrol set or an Oktober Guard set.

We've speculated we should see a Con Exclusive Night Boomer.

I also want to get a Golden Ticket or VIP or whatever it is this time. There's definitely a deal to be made here for someone not going.

As for a RoadTrip Idea, Im all over that! I think its excelent and would like to take a vote, toss ideas around at the next dinner as to how we can make this happen, its plenty of time for everyone who wants to go to get plans and money together, so it looks like this is as close to reality as it could get - and to share it with the people i like best, what could possibly be bad about it?

How are plans looking? I am curious about actual travel dates. You hardcore guys who have this down, when do you head over and come back.

Too many things at work are uncertain right now, (like we don't really have a Sheriff) and it is time to start putting in requests for Vacation for April through September. Because things are day to day I may not know what's going on until a week or two out. Really a pain.

So any info on dates and plans is helpful! Thanks!

Haha! I agree Dragongravy! I don't know about his family history but he should have never ran and I don't know how he ran! Our office is operating on autopilot, so that couldn't be bad in any way....

Anyway, this is all making it tough for me to plan, too! Let me know how your plans look DG, maybe we can head out for part of the con together.

well....they cant stop anyone from running as long as they are alive.....its up to the people to make informed choices. i do know he has been ill for a long time, and with every thing that i know of it was an irresponsible choice to run in the first place. it was pure selfishness. he was quoted as saying his life long dream was to be sheriff....well good for him people elected him he served what one day and resigned? that was a selfish ego trip not the fulfillment of a dream. im tired of politicians with "dreams" fudge 'em.

As of right now, it looks like I'll be headed to indy on Friday and will be there until Sunday depending on the Convention scheduling and what not.

I wish they'd post some sort of schedule and pricing. However, based on last year's pricing, it looks like I won't be opting for any kind of Golden Ticket or VIP thing. It's just too much money for me to front. Which is why I'm looking at driving over to Indy on Friday.

As of yet I have no carpool buddies or hotel room mates. I do intend to stay at the convention hotel. Rooms are $135 + tax. Figure that'd be $270 + tax for two nights. It would be nice to have some Johioans to split that with. As for getting there, I'm probably going to take my wife's Malibu. It's the most dependable since I just dropped $500 in misc repairs and tune up type things. My Mini Van is old with high mileage and I don't trust it enough to drive that far. The other option is renting a minivan, but I haven't looked into that yet.

This is true. We were fed "he's 100% cancer free", which as we know is sooo common! Then he showed up like 2 days and vanished. Went to the hospital for "dehydration and exhaustion" and now is dealing with "an unrelated illness." OK. He didn't serve as Sheriff at all, resigned Thursday and was to take office Monday. Hugs load of B.S., no doubt!

from talking with a few of the guys who have been there before, i believe they said wendsday and thursday were the best for buying the exclusives, however for me tentatively friday and saturday look like the best days. so im not sure how ill work that out yet..
