I think it would have been better to convert that technology into a small one or two man VTOL like the Skyhawk. Make it more of a flying car. I understand they'd been working on it since the 70's. It just looks too bulky and heavy to be able to operate solo. Take-offs and Landings look like they'd be rough without help.

Last Christmas at my Uncle's house, were watching one of those "People do Dumb things" type shows and they showed another jet-pack design.

I sh!t you not, it's extremely close to the Resolute Jet-Pack prototypes Duke and Scarlett used. I found a Youtube link. You'll find a much longer video of it, but it's on Swedish.

While this design is much more compact and seemingly practical. You need a drop release from a plane and a parachute landing.
