Mansfield Toy Show - 7 Feb

Postby YoJoeNCSU on Tue Feb 02, 2010 6:00 pm

So who all is planning on going to the Mansfield Toy Show this weekend? I've never been, have heard it was small, but thought I might set up to clear out some vehicles and raise some money for the convention.

it's not "huge". but its not the smallest show youll find. Maybe 6 rows of tables, lots of various things.. but usually no more than 3 to 5 "serious" Joe tables. I know G.I. Dean from this site is always there.... thats where I met him actually...

It was a great time... I don't think we rolled back into Medina until 5pm. I ended up with a 1982 G.I. Joe board game (complete) for only $5 (thanks Steve) and a bunch of figures (thanks Dean) from JOhio peeps. I also picked up an Uzi. yeah, an uzi. I picked up a few other misc things plus some stuff from the establishments we stopped at on the long meandering ride home....

I had a great time...I got a dirty but near complete Moray (missing the lens of course and the rear guns) for $20. I should have all the other parts to clean it up. Sold off most of the vehicles I didn't want around that were taking up too much space.

Also got caught up on my IDW GI Joe comics thanks to the $1 comic box. I haven't read any of these issues from any of the new series, so now I got about 30 comics to read sometime.

It was fun seeing everyone, thanks for stopping by.

Well crap, when I went looking through a few comic book boxes, the G.I. Joe section was empty.

Now you know ...why...and that's half the battle. The other half is beating the awesomizer for making it so.

I know you had Tunnel Vision from the excitement over finding the Blue Clues doll and the GI Joe game all in the same day, but the dudes on the far aisle opposite from me had a box that was half full...they had all but one of the IDW issues in there from the different titles. I got all mine at the very end of the day.

I'm sure you could get them at the next show you go to...I've had no trouble getting modern GI Joe or Transformers comics for $1 or less at shows nowadays. Hell of a lot better than the $4 cover price and you get to read 'em all at once.
