Smurfs!

Postby Marthor on Mon Jan 19, 2009 6:43 pm

My sister had bought Season 1 of the Smurfs episodes for my daughter for Christmas, so she's been watching those episodes a lot since Christmas. The whole family was at Walmart today smurfing around and we're walking through the girl's toy aisle and looked over and there's the Smurfs are back!

We quickly smurfed a couple packs into the cart. They also have Smurf Mushroom houses for $15 on the shelf.
The two packs are $4.90 each. We got Papa Smurf/Brainy & Smurfette/Poet Smurf.

This is extremely SMURFY news!

EDIT:
Looks like Toys R Us has Smurfs too...

Smurfs

I will need to keep an eye out for these. I loved the smurfs as a child. Thanks for the heads up.

I looked for these tonight. My whole family likes them. We didn't get any, but they are on the want list, especially one of the houses.

I see you've got Jokey Smurf! That seems to be the hardest one to find. I've seen Smurfs at two different Walmarts and Jokey was sold out both times.

I went ahead and picked up Handy Smurf today to add to the collection!

I found those smurfs in a little toy store in New Orleans back during JoeCon '06. It's also where I found some plastic animals made by a company called Schleich. I found the smurf house on ebay. I had one a long time ago, but have no idea what happened to it. My older brother had a collection of smurfs, one of which came with a barbell and weights. That's gone, too.

We were able to find Jokey, so we've got all the characters from Wave 1.

Anyone have any info on Wave 2??
Top priorities are Hefty, Greedy, Gargamel and Azriel. :D

Hey, Monchichis and Smurfs played a big part of my childhood so don't knock'em. I still have my red Monchichi which may or may not be be a knockoff but I used to carry it everywhere with me.

Oh man, you're in trouble then, because I'm quickly becoming a smurf-a-holic.

:skarapz2

I use the smurf packs as incentives for my daughter to learn things. She counted to 100 and also counted by 10s to 100, so she got a new smurf. She already knows most of the kindergarten curricullum and she doesn't even start kindergarten until fall. :thumbsup

I saw the new series today and have to admit they are tempting. I was talking to HVAC_Viper this afternoon about how they should make 3 packs of standard smurfs so you could either army build them or make your own themed figures. I like the individual characters and all, but it would be cool to make your own.

Hefty doesn't have the "heart" tattoos on his arms, so he's pretty much a generic smurf that comes with weights.

I like the generic smurf pack idea. :thumbsup
