Hasbro Q & A: 2009 round 5 - Answers

Postby Rockshield on Wed Nov 25, 2009 6:09 pm

Sorry for the delay in posting these folks... hope everyone understands that with the accident, there's no way I could have posted them sooner...

1. In a report to stock holders hasbro reported an 8% increase in profits, what was the percentage increase or decrease in units sold?

Habro: Sorry, but Hasbro does not release this type of information.

2. What are the chances that we will see any form of Steel Brigade figure? It seems that all of the parts you would need have been tooled and produced.

Habsro: We cannot confirm this, but it is safe to say it is on the short list of
items for a Fall 2010 release.

3. Why was Bench Press given Rock n Roll's file card name? Wouldn't it have made more sense to make him an entirely new character altogether, since he bears no likeness to our original Machine Gunner? Or is this part of some secret unground plot to destroy all of the old classic characters (i.e. Ripcord, Dialtone, Cobra Commander) by replacing them instead of creating new characters altogether?

Hasbro: In this particular case our plans had to change last minute as the name
Rock n Roll was no longer available for us to use, therefore we called him
Bench Press.

Thanks for asking these questions. I am looking forward to seeing the Super Trooper.

Sweet you asked my Steel Brigade question and they actually gave a decent answer :D

Here's hoping they make a decent version of the Steel Brigade figure.

according to here

we could simplify the list :

air borne body and legs
flash arms (may not look right with duke uppers never tried it)
steel brigade helmet
generic head

this is actually the version i have some where....actually until i first seen yojoe this is the only one i knew about, lol

honestly if they gave us a five pack they could do one of each, lol

How could "Rock n' Roll" not be available? Isn't it a public domain name.

I didn't even make the connection that it was Rock n' Roll's real name on the file card. It's too bad they didn't include, I don't know, A HEAVY MACHINE GUN with the heavy machine gunner!

No we can't simplify the list :D Here is the perfect Steel Brigade figure assembled with the parts list I posted: Steel Brigade Custom based on this version of the Steel Brigade trooper: Steel Brigade V1b

Here is his gold helmet Steel Brigade leader custom: Steel Brigade gold helmet

I just think if Hasbro uses Airborne's web-gear it won't look as good as the Duke version that the custom uses :)

well, they included two rock n roll figures in the 25th anniversay line already.. calling him Sgt Rock n Roll I believe...

so that answer has got to be a load of crap.....

according to joebattlelines there is one scheduled q and a left and the due date jan 3. they are also reporting that this will be the last one ever. it sounds to me that it is more likely that the pr firm hasnt issue a new schedule yet for the year.and here is a link to their thread here.

I don't know who started this rumor, but according to the pr guys this is absurd. The next round of questions are due Jan 4th, and thats the end of the 2009 schedule. The upcoming schedule for 2010 will begin in March.
